We’re looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Business Services Officer to join our information management team in Whakatāne on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in our SharePoint journey, where we want to help embed modern information management practices across the organisation.

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role

As a Business Services Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of our digital transformation, supporting the business to navigate the new SharePoint environment and ensuring our information is well-organised, secure, and accessible. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to respond to a growing volume of complex “Jobs for SharePoint” requests, support the digitisation of hard copy records, help implement automated retention and disposal processes, and support the clean-up and classification of legacy records.

You will also undertake quality audits and data integrity administration of our systems. If you have experience with AI or automation in information management, even better — we’re keen to explore how we can further streamline our systems and improve data integrity.

We’re after someone who is: 

  • Confident working with digital systems, particularly SharePoint and Microsoft 365 
  • Knowledgeable in the Public Records Act, Privacy Act, and Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (LGOIMA)  
  • Passionate about information management and digital enablement 
  • A natural problem-solver who enjoys helping others and improving processes 
  • Curious about the future of work, especially the role of AI in information governance 
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment
