We are looking for an experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) professional to join our high-performing team to provide a wide range of geospatial services to our organisation and ratepayers. This is a fixed term role for a period of 10 months to cover an internal secondment within the team. 

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role

We are looking for a Geospatial Analyst who can align the power of Geospatial with the needs of our organisation effectively, providing training to GIS users and key advice for our internal project teams when required. You will also:

  • deliver high quality maps and undertake spatial analysis to support decision making within the organisation
  • build and manage online and mobile mapping applications to drive business efficiencies
  • manage corporate spatial data to ensure integrity, completeness and accuracy
  • maintain close working relationships with internal and external customers.

Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience

We are seeking someone who is an innovative thinker with skills in analytics. These, combined with your great team ethics and strong communications and customer skills, will make you someone we want to hear from! You will also have:

  • A tertiary degree in Geography, Geospatial or equivalent.
  • At least three years’ experience in GIS, Geospatial or another related field.
  • A thorough knowledge of ArcGIS and other GIS packages
  • Experience in developing and maintaining web based GIS solutions

This position is full time fixed term, based in our Tauranga or Whakatane office. A highly competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience will be offered to the successful candidate.
