Organisational Support Assistant - Safer Boating Seniors (2 x fixed-term roles)

The BOPRC Harbourmaster Team are anticipating a busy summer on the water and are seeking two (2) Organisational Support Assistants - Safer Boating Senior roles to aid in promoting safer boating throughout the rohe.
This is a part-time, fixed term opportunity from 10 December 2025 - 25 February 2026, based in Tauranga.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role
Duties will include:
- Supervision of the Safer Boating Summer Assistants (team of 4)
- Promotion and Education of Safer Boating message to the community
- Completing boat ramp education throughout the Bay of Plenty region
- Assisting with research and compliance surveys at strategic locations across the Bay of Plenty
- Delivering Safer Boating Resources around the region.
Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience
Ideal applicants will:
- Have a great (positive) attitude
- Be comfortable and confident speaking to the general public
- Be experienced in working as part of a team and providing support to other team members
- Be willing and capable of working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Hold a current, full driver’s licence
- Hold a Coastguard Boating Day Skipper certificate (or be willing to complete this as part of the role)
- Be studying towards or interested in a career in Maritime.
